Jeffrey Piper

Jeffrey Piper

Managing Partner

Jeff is a Managing Partner at Semper Fi Partners LLC in Chicago.  Prior to Semper Fi, Jeff was a Managing Director at Svoboda Capital Partners, a lower middle market private equity firm in Chicago where he was responsible for sourcing and evaluating potential investment opportunities, leading due diligence, structuring and negotiating transactions, and managing portfolio company investments.  Prior to joining Svoboda, Jeff spent four years with the Investment Banking group at Robert W. Baird & Co. (“Baird”) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. During his tenure at Baird, Jeff focused the majority of his time on the business services and consumer industry groups.  Jeff serves on the boards of both the Illinois Venture Capital Association (IVCA) and Chicago Association of Private Equity Executives (CAPEX).

Jeff is also actively involved in the community and is currently ATO Gamma Zeta House Corporation Vice Chairman, in addition to supporting the National Kidney Foundation and his parish.

Jeff holds a BS degree in Finance with honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and an MBA with concentrations in Finance and Organizational Management from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Phillip Bronsteatter

Phillip Bronsteatter

Managing Director

Phil joined Pfingsten in 2008 as a member of the corporate finance team, and since that time has been involved in screening and processing several investment opportunities. He also has experience in acquisitions, debt and equity financing and supporting investment management activities.

Prior to joining Pfingsten, Phil was an Analyst in the Investment Banking Group at Lazard Middle Market in Chicago. Before taking that position, he worked as an analyst at Cleary Gull, a boutique investment banking firm in Milwaukee, and in financial valuation at American Appraisal Associates.

A Wisconsin native, Phil holds a BBA degree in Finance, Economics and Mathematics from Marquette University and an MBA degree in Finance, Entrepreneurship and Strategic Management from University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Jeremy Stump

Jeremy Stump

Principal

Jeremy Stump is a Principal at Lightspring Capital Partners.  Prior to joining Lightspring, Jeremy was a Principal at Merit Capital Partners, a middle market private equity firm in Chicago, and was a Vice President in Fifth Third Bank’s Structured Finance Group, specializing in sponsor leveraged finance and based in the Chicago office. At Fifth Third, Jeremy worked across various industries, including aerospace, automotive, business and consumer services, consumer products, defense, environmental remediation, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, merchant processing, natural resource, and retail. Prior to working in the Structured Finance Group at Fifth Third Bank, Jeremy was a commercial lender within Fifth Third Bank’s Middle Market Commercial Lending division in Chicago.

Jeremy received an M.B.A. with honors, Beta Gamma Sigma, from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with concentrations in finance and entrepreneurship. He earned his B.S. in finance from Butler University, where he played NCAA Division I-AA collegiate football.

Jeremy is actively involved as President of the Board of Directors of The Boulevard (formerly Interfaith House), a Chicago non-profit organization located on Chicago’s West Side that provides interim housing and care to ill and injured homeless individuals.  Jeremy is also a frequent guest lecturer at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Kyle Lattner

Kyle Lattner

Principal

Kyle Lattner is a Principal at Waud Capital, joining the firm in 2013. Prior to joining WCP, he worked in private equity at American Securities and in the investment banking M&A groups at CIBC World Markets and Oppenheimer & Co.

He currently servies as a member of the Board of Adult & Pediatric Dermatology and Ivy Rehab, and as an observer of the Board of Cordant Health Solutions (previously Sterling Healthcare Holdings).  In addition to his roles at WCP, Mr. Lattner also serves as a baord member of the Chicago Association of Private Equity Executives (CAPEX).

Mr. Lattner holds a B.S.B.A., summa cum laude, in Finance and Economics from Boston University and an M.B.A., with distinction, from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Josh Friedman

Mr. Friedman is a Director at joined IPI Data Center Partners where he joined in 2017. Prior to IPI, Mr. Friedman was a Vice President at Sterling Partners focused on all aspects of the deal process including identification and due diligence of prospective acquisitions, and management and oversight of the active portfolio. Mr. Friedman worked across Sterling’s industries of focus: Business Services, Healthcare Services and Education. 

Prior to Sterling, Mr. Friedman worked at Versa Capital Management, a distressed and special situations private equity firm. He began his career in the Financial Restructuring Group at Houlihan Lokey. Mr. Friedman received a BS in Economics from the Wharton School and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management.

David Rubin

David Rubin

Managing Director

David joined Svoboda Capital Partners ("SC") in 2015 and is responsible for sourcing and evaluating potential investment opportunities, leading due diligence, structuring and negotiating transactions, and managing portfolio company investments. David serves as a Director of the Board for One North Interactive and Cigar Accessories Holdings and as a board participant for Strategic Marketing, Inc., SWC Technology Partners and Sonoma Creamery.  

Prior to joining SC, David spent a number of years in middle market private equity and beforehand was an Investment Banking Analyst with Harris Williams & Co. ("HW") in Minneapolis, Minnesota. During his tenure at HW, David focused the majority of his time on mergers and acquisitions in the business services and consumer sectors. 

David holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance with honors from George Washington University and an MBA with concentrations in Accounting, Finance and Organizational Management from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Partner

Ryan is a Partner at Longshore Capital Partners and is responsible for transaction evaluation and execution, due diligence, portfolio management, and business development. Prior to Longshore Capital Partners, Ryan was a Partner at LaSalle Capital, a lower middle market private equity fund in Chicago, and a Vice President at Svoboda Capital Partners, a lower middle market private equity fund in Chicago. He was also previously an Associate at LaSalle Capital and an Investment Banking Analyst at Houlihan Lokey in their Chicago office. An Illinois native, Ryan holds a BS with High Honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
